Today's Game... The Senators and Akron Aeros play the first of two make-up doubleheaders tonight beginning at 5:05pm. Tonight's doubleheader is due to the rain out in Akron on Thursday, May 11th. RHP Justin Echols will be on the mound for game #1 and game #2 is going to be a bullpen effort for the Senators. The Senators are 16-5 at home and trail Akron by just two games in the standings.

Last Time Out... The Senators entered the eighth inning trailing 6-2 but staged a four-run rally in the eighth and then scored in the ninth for a rousing come from behind 7-6 win over the Akron Aeros. The Senators got on the board in the second inning on a home run by Josh Whitesell. After Akron had taken a 3-1 lead, Frank Diaz drove in Dan Dement in the fourth to cut the lead to a run. But Akron scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to take a 6-2. In the eighth, Melvin Dorta and Dan DeMent opened the inning by hitting back to back singles to right. Kory Casto then walked loading the bases with no outs. Alex Escobar then walked driving in Dorta to make it 6-3. After a couple of outs, Salomon Manriquez reached on an error scoring DeMent to trim the lead to 6-4. Jesus Feliciano then singled to left to tie the game. In the ninth, Escobar singled in Casto with the game winner with two outs giving Dan Kolb his first win of the season for the Senators.

Defensively... The Senators have committed 31 errors and have turned 34 double plays. The Sens are currently third in overall defense in the Eastern League. They have been errorless in 18 games this season. The Senators have 7 outfield assists (Escobar 4; Diaz 1; Guerrero 1; and Lane 1). Frank Diaz leads the Eastern League in defense for outfielders, having not committed an error thus far this season.

Walk Off's... Last night was the third walk-off win for the Senators. They came from beind on opening night, scoring a run in the bottom of the ninth and then winning the game in the 10th on a sacrifice fly by Salomon Manriquez. On Tuesday, April 11th the Senators came from behind to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, and then after giving a run in the 10th, Manriquez homered to tie the game and then Dan DeMent hit a two-run home run to win the game. Home Sweet Home... With the win last night the Senators improved to 16-5 at home. The Sens have the best home record in the league, but they also have the They have won 4 of 5 at home after losing two straight to Erie.

Double Dips... This is the third doubleheader this season for the Senators. They split the first two, one at home against Portland and one on the road at Akron. Last year the Senators were swept in each of the four doubleheaders they played.
