Area Youth Win Sectional Pinch, Hit and Run

Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators hosted the Sectional Competition of the Pepsi Major League Baseball PITCH, HIT & RUN competition Saturday at Commerce Bank Park in Harrisburg, PA. Close to 100 winners of local competitions took to the field to crown overall winners in four different age categories.

The winners included Bret Bitting of Harrisburg (7/8 year olds), Nathan Ocker of Middletown, PA (9/10 year old), Mark Burnside of York (11/12 year olds) and Anthony Jenco of Mountville, PA (12/13 year olds).

These winners will be eligible to advance to the Team Championship to be held in the next few weeks. By winning the Team Championship they become eligible to qualify for the National Finals at the 2006 Major League All-Star Game to be held in Pittsburgh on July 11th.

PITCH, HIT and RUN is a baseball skills competition that allows youngsters to showcase their talents in Pitching, hitting and running with scores determined by individual performances in each skill event.
