York Revolution News Release
(York, Pa.) - Ty'Relle Harris powered through five innings in a spot start while Telvin Nash and Joel Guzman each hit home runs as the York Revolution swept the doubleheader and the four-game series from the Bridgeport Bluefish 7-1 on Wednesday night at PeoplesBank Park. The Revs have now won a season-high four in a row and will take their show on the road to Southern Maryland on Friday.
Pressed into just his second start in a Revs (9-6) uniform, Harris (1-1) allowed just one hit and one unearned run in five innings of work. He walked one and struck out four on a season-high 68 pitches.
Jonathan Albaladejo (0-1) was stuck with the loss, absorbing six runs on 12 hits in five innings for the Bluefish (5-9).
Guzman and Isaias Tejeda led off the second inning with singles, then after a fielder's choice, Keith Castillo pounded a double to left center to score Guzman. Jason Repko singled home a run two batters later to put the home side up 2-0.
It was more of the same in the third when Nash stroked a one-out solo homer over the Arch Nemesis. Tejeda singled with two down and James Simmons tripled him home, scoring moments later on a Castillo base hit to make it 5-0.
Bridgeport got a run back in the fourth on a Luis Hernandez RBI single, the only hit Harris gave up. Ty'Relle got out of the jam with two flyouts and froze Luis Rodriguez for a looking strikeout to retire the side.
In the Revs' half of the fourth, Nash laced a two-out double down the left field line to score Josh Wilson and get the run back. Guzman's opposite field solo blast in the seventh gave York its seventh and final run.
After Ron Schreurs handled a pair of scoreless frames, the Bluefish made things interesting by scoring two each in the eighth and ninth. However, Wes Alsup and Daniel Carela each got out of trouble and the Revs held on for their first sweep of the year.
Tejeda paced the Revolution attack, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run. With two hits each, Nash and Guzman extended their hitting streaks to eight apiece, gathering hits in all eight games of the homestand. Repko and Castillo also accounted for two of the Revs' 13 hits.
Notes: The Revs swept a four-game home set from the Bluefish for the second straight time, also accomplishing the feat last Sept. 4-7. Guzman finished the homestand hitting a blazing 13-for-26 with three home runs, a double, seven RBIs, and nine runs scored. This was Harris's longest start with the Revolution, besting his outing last Aug. 12 against Lancaster where he went 4.2 innings and allowed two runs on three hits. After an off day on Thursday, the Revs are back in action on Friday night for the first of three against the Blue Crabs in Southern Maryland. Revs fans can catch the action live on SportsRadio 1350, woyk1350.com, and on the WOYK mobile app beginning at 6:45 p.m. with Darrell Henry on the call.
