SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - Mississippi RiverKings forwards Matt Harrington and Mark Pustin visited the Southern Friends Animal Sanctuary on Wednesday. January 6.
"There are too many pets without food, homes, or families," volunteer Karen Kessler said. "Our goal is to educate the public on the benefits of pet adoption versus shopping for a pet."
Harrington and Pustin toured the sanctuary, and spoke with Kessler and fellow volunteer Sherry Nicholson about the importance of the volunteer-run sanctuary's role in the Mid-South area. The visit concluded with Harrington and Pustin playing with the animals, and receiving information about Southern Friends' adoption process.
The RiverKings return to Concorde Career College Ice at the Landers Center on Friday, January 15 as they look to Pack the House for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, presented by Belhaven University. All tickets are discounted $5 anywhere in the building and are available at the Landers Center box office or on Ticketmaster.
