Charlotte Krunk News Release
Carraras County, NC. The Carolina Thunder needed 39 points from emerging star Brett Harper to get their second home win of the season defeating the Atlanta Vision for the second night in a row in a hard fought game, 103-95. Shortly after the opening tip, the Thunder coaching staff probably felt like they were watching game film from the previous night as the Vision opened the contest with an 11-4 run putting them down by double digits early. The Vision continued to be hot in the second quarter going up by 20 but the Thunder came back to close it to 11 at halftime.
The second half was a different story as the Carolina bench put out an extraordinary effort and help close the gap. Atlanta scored only 40 points in the second half as the shooting touch left them a bit. "The team is coming together now; everybody is feeding off Harper's play. Honestly, the key to tonight's win was the charge that Marcel Scott took," said asst coach Deshon Gaither. The Thunder had 19 turnovers, Atlanta only 12, but gave up 19 offensive rebounds to the Thunder, which was the deciding factor. While Atlanta is 0-2 under their new ownership, the team is really getting better and should a strong team moving forward. Carolina, now 5-5 will take their show on the road to Pennsylvania where they face the Pit Bulls. Atlanta will look to get that elusive first win at home against Philadelphia on Thursday.
