
Hard Fought Fourth Lead Stampede To Win Over D-Fenders

BOISE, Idaho, March 10, 2010 -The Stampede returned home after a long six-game road trip and defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders 125-199, in Boise Wednesday night.
Both L.A. and Idaho came out strong in the first half. By the end of two quarters both teams had three players in double-figures including the D-Fenders' Ryan Forehan-Kelly and James Wright with 12 points and Joe Crawford with ten. Donell Taylor had 15 points for Idaho. Coby Karl added 14 to the Stampede's score and Andre Barrett had seven. After the first half the score was tied at 62.
Idaho worked tirelessly to take the lead in the third outscoring the D-Fenders 32-27 giving them a five point lead heading into the final 12 minutes. The Stampede maintained their tempo in the fourth giving them the win as time expired.
The L.A. D-Fenders finished the night with five players in double-figures. Leading with 28 was Forehan-Kelly, Wright with 25 points, Michael Fey with 17 points, Joe Crawford with 16 points, and Dar Tucker with 11. Starting Guards Barrett (28 points) and Karl (22 points) scored a combined 50 points for the Stampede. Other players contributing to the score in double-figures included Taylor with 21 points, Joe Dabbert with 13 and Mildon Ambres came off the bench to score 15 points.
"I though in the first half we getting careless with the ball," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "After the half we came out much more focused. I was very impressed by our guards and the players off the bench tonight."
The D-Fenders stay in Boise and will play Idaho again this Friday night for the Stampede's Denver Nuggets Affiliate Night where Supermascot Rocky' and the Nuggets Dance Team will perform.
