
D-Fenders Fall Short To Stampede

Boise, ID- The Los Angeles D-Fenders (13-25) fell short to the Idaho Stampede (20-18) tonight at Qwest Arena in Boise Idaho. Despite a close match-up, Idaho sealed the win, 125-119.
Both L.A. and Idaho came out strong in the first half. By the end of two quarters both teams had three players in double-figures including the D-Fenders' Ryan Forehan-Kelly and James Wright with 12 points and Joe Crawford with ten. Donell Taylor had 15 points for Idaho, while Coby Karl added 14 and Andre Barrett had seven. The first half came to a close with the score knotted at 62.
Idaho worked tirelessly to take the lead in the third, outscoring the D-Fenders 32-27 giving them a five point lead heading into the final 12 minutes. The Stampede maintained their tempo in the fourth giving Idaho the win as time expired.
The L.A. D-Fenders finished the night with five players in double-figures. Leading with 28 points was Forehan-Kelly, while Wright brought in 25 points, Michael Fey had 17, Joe Crawford with 16 points, and Dar Tucker with 11 points. Starting Guards Barrett (28 points) and Karl (22 points) scored a combined 50 points for the Stampede. Other players contributing to the score in double-figures included Taylor with 21 points, Joe Dabbert with 13 and Mildon Ambres came off the bench to score 15 points.
"I thought in the first half we getting careless with the ball," said Stampede Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "After the half we came out much more focused. I was very impressed by our guards and the players off the bench tonight."
The D-Fenders will stay in Boise and will take on the Stampede in a rematch this
