Elmira, NY- The Elmira Jackals Ownership, Players, Coach, Staff and Management would like to wish you a safe and happy Thanksgiving! Join the Jackals tomorrow night for a match up with the defending Kelly Cup Champion, Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena.
The Table is Set: The Jackals enter the game with 9-5-0-1 record and sit in fourth place in the North Division. The Cyclones occupy fifth place in the North with a 5-7-1-2 record. This will be the fourth match up of the season between the two clubs. The last match up between these North Division heavyweights was on November, 14th at First Arena. The Jackals won 7-6 and took the series lead 2-1.
Stuffing the Turkey: The Jackals will be without Tyler Donati and Steve Yetman who lead the team in scoring. Donati (6 g 13 a 19 pts) is still on loan to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL while Yetman (9g 6 a 15 pts) suffered an undisclosed injury in Reading last Saturday. The Jackals will be lead by Josh Aspenlind ( 3g 9 a 12 pts) and Pierre-Luc Faubert (4 g 6 a 10 pts). The Cyclones are lead by Thomas Beauregard (10g 8 a 18 pts) and Olivier Latendresse (11g 6 a 17 pts).
No Gravy Allowed: Mitch O'Keefe is coming off of his best weekend of the season with his first shut out of the season stopping all 38 shots in Trenton last Friday. On Saturday O'Keefe was just as good turning aside 24 of 25 shots helping his save percentage grow to .920 and cutting his goals against down to 2.51. Michael Teslak has been tough to beat as well with a 2.67 goals against average and a .908 save percentage. The Cyclones acquired Martin Houle from the Las Vegas Wranglers, who has a combined season goals against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .873. Kyle Gawjewski sits on a 4.19 goals against and a .874 save percentage.
Dessert: After Friday night's game the Jackals board the bus and head to Wheeling to take on the Nailers. The Jackals then return to First Arena for a three game set starting Wednesday, December 3rd when they play host to the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. The Reading Royals visit First Arena on Friday, December 5th at 7:35 p.m., and the Trenton Devils are in town on Saturday, December 6th for a 7:35 p.m. tilt.
