BILOXI, MS - Pat Oliveto's first goal of the season gave the Sea Wolves a 5-4 overtime win over the South Carolina Stingrays in the first game of a three-in-three series at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Thursday night.

South Carolina opened the scoring on the power play when Keith Johnson beat Sea Wolves goalie Ryan Munce with a redirection of Trent Campbell's shot at 1:26 of the second period.

Ryan Cruthers got the Sea Wolves on the board when he stuffed the rebound of his own shot over the pad of Stingrays goaltender Bobby Goepfert for his 11th goal of the season at 5:57 of the second. Alex Parent then hit Mike Berry with a centering pass that Berry redirected past Goepfert for a second power-play goal 30 seconds later to give the Sea Wolves a 2-1 lead. Matt Deschamps extended the lead to 3-1 when his blast from the blueline beat Goepfert on the power play at 8:51 of the second frame.

Pierre-Luc O'Brien drew the Stingrays within one when he beat Ryan Munce with a wrist shot from the top of the slot through a screen at 12:14 of the second. Brad Farynuk would add a power-play goal at 13:28 to draw the game even at three-apiece at 13:28.

Trent Campbell's power-play marker at 10:57 of the third gave South Carolina a 4-3 lead. With Ryan Munce on the bench for an extra attacker, the Sea Wolves won an offensive zone faceoff to Mathieu Melanson who fired a shot that Jason Tejchma redirected past Goepfert to tie the game at four.

Mississippi's Pat Oliveto notched his first goal of the year at a clutch moment when his centering pass went off the leg of South Carolina's Nate Kiser and into the Stingrays net for the game-winner at 2:21 of the overtime.
