OMAHA, NE -- Alen Hanson singled and scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning and closer Blake Wood earned the save in his first career All-Star appearance as the International League edged the Pacific Coast League, 4-3, in the 2015 Triple-A All-Star game Wednesday night at Werner Park.
Matt Hague, the Tribe's all-time Victory Field hits leader, donned a jersey other than the Indians for the first time in three career trips to the Triple-A Midsummer Classic, and opened the game with an RBI single for the IL's lone run until the ninth inning.
The PCL tied the game and took the lead on homers in the sixth and eighth frames before Hanson poked a single into right field to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth.
New York Yankees prospect Kyle Roller tied the game and singled Hanson to third with one out in the inning. The Tribe's top prospect Hanson then sprinted home on a bloop hit to left field from Lehigh Valley's Tyler Henson to give the IL its 4-3 lead.
Wood took the mound as his team's final available reliever and worked around a pair of walks to author a scoreless ninth and pick up the save.
