LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
January 8th: at Hamilton - Bulldogs 2, Marlies 1
Gabriel Dumont scored the winning goal at 19:12 of the third period to lift the Bulldogs to a 2-1 win over the Marlies and end a three-game losing streak against their Ontario rival before a crowd of 4,538. Nazem Kadri opened the scoring for the visitors at 9:18 of the second period, but Patrick Holland replied for the Bulldogs at 19:59. Robert Mayer faced 24 shots to pick up the win for the Bulldogs while Jussi Rynnas made 36 saves for the Marlies. The Bulldogs were 0-for-4 on the power play while the Marlies were unable to convert in seven opportunities with the man advantage.
January 11th: at Rochester - Americans 5, Bulldogs 2
The Americans got goals from five different players as they skated to a 5-2 win. Blueliner Jason DeSantis opened the scoring for the Bulldogs on the power play at 2:21 of the first period, but Brian Flynn and T.J. Brennan replied for the Americans before the end of the frame. Mark Mancari and Nick Tarnasky gave the home side a 4-1 lead through 40 minutes before Gabriel Dumont pulled the Bulldogs within two with his team-leading 12th goal 11 seconds into the third period, but that was as close as the visitors would get as Brayden McNabb closed the scoring at 6:21. Robert Mayer made 23 saves in a fourth consecutive start while David Leggio faced 19 shots in the Rochester net. Both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Bulldogs are 7-11-1-2 against North Division opponents and 10-14-1-3 against Western Conference foes ... The Bulldogs are 7-4-1-3 in one-goal games ... The Bulldogs are the eighth-most penalized team in the AHL, averaging 20.72 penalty minutes per game ... The Bulldogs have played five extended-time games, tied with the Binghamton Senators and Connecticut Whale for fewest in the league ... The Bulldogs are 23rd in the AHL in shots on goal, averaging 29.28 per game. They are 11th in shots allowed, surrendering 29.67 per game ... The Bulldogs are 8-0-0-0 when leading after two periods, joining the Rockford IceHogs, St. John's IceCaps and Texas Stars as the only AHL teams who are perfect when leading through 40 minutes ... The Bulldogs' win over the visiting Marlies was their first since a 6-3 victory at Copps Coliseum on Nov. 16. The Marlies had outscored the Bulldogs 15-3 in three subsequent games, all at Toronto. The Bulldogs have three wins and an overtime loss against their provincial rival at home.

RW Riley Armstrong, 28, was third in scoring with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies, having recorded 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in 31 games. He has played 402 AHL games with the Cleveland Barons, Worcester Sharks, Abbotsford Heat, Grand Rapids Griffins and Binghamton Senators, contributing 86 goals and 81 assists for 167 points. Armstrong, whose older brother Colby is attending the Montreal Canadiens' training camp, played two games for the NHL's San Jose Sharks in 2008-09. He spent last season with the Senators, Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and SaiPa of the Finnish SM-liiga ... D Jason DeSantis scored his first goal for the Bulldogs at Rochester. He had scored two goals in 27 games this season with the San Antonio Rampage. DeSantis recorded his first point with the Bulldogs with an assist against the Marlies ... C Gabriel Dumont has three goals and one assist for four points in his last four games ... D Mark Isherwood, 23, scored four goals and added 10 assists for 14 points in 26 games for the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. He spent last season playing for Cortina of the Italian Serie A League ... C Daultan Leveille made his AHL debut in a 2-1 win over the visiting Toronto Marlies on Jan. 8 ... G Robert Mayer has started the last four games, his longest string of game action since he made six consecutive starts from Oct. 28 to Nov. 14. Mayer's loss at Rochester was his first in regulation since a 5-1 road defeat to the Abbotsford Heat on Nov. 30. He had gone 4-0-0-2 in seven subsequent appearances ... F Tyler Murovich, 23, had contributed nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points in 38 games with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. Murovich had played 32 AHL games over two seasons with the Syracuse Crunch, Springfield Falcons and Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins, scoring four goals and adding six assists for 10 points ... D Greg Pateryn is expected to return to the lineup after missing 29 games with a fractured elbow suffered in a 3-2 shootout loss to the host Rochester Americans on Nov. 2. He had one assist in his first seven games ... RW Ian Schultz, 22, had six points, including two goals, and 72 penalty minutes in 26 games for the Wheeling Nailers and Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. Schultz spent two seasons with the Bulldogs from 2010-12, recording nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points in 105 games ... C Joey Tenute, a 29-year-old native of Hamilton, had two assists in his Bulldogs debut at Rochester. The game marked his first AHL action since he appeared in 78 games for the San Antonio Rampage in 2007-08. He played 207 AHL games with the Hershey Bears and Rampage and played one game for the NHL's Washington Capitals in 2005-06. Tenute had spent the last four seasons playing in Finland, Germany and Austria.

BULLDOGS HOCKEY HOUR AT MONTANA'S
The fifth instalment of the Bulldogs Hockey Hour will be held live on location on Monday, January 22nd at 7 p.m. at Montana's Cookhouse at 1508 Upper James Street in Hamilton.
Fans can join Bulldogs play-by-play broadcaster Derek Wills and colour commentator Al Craig as well as players and coaches as they review the past week of Bulldogs hockey and preview what's to come. The interactive setting will allow fans to ask questions, get autographs, win prizes and enjoy food and drink specials.
BULLDOGS AND HAMILTON POLICE TEAMING UP TO COMBAT DRINKING AND DRIVING
The Bulldogs and Hamilton Police have announced a program aimed at reducing impaired driving in Hamilton. Motorists who successfully complete RIDE spot checks will be presented with a voucher that can be exchanged for a pair of tickets to the Bulldogs' remaining January home game:
