The Hamilton Bulldogs (8-17-0-2) will look to end a five-game losing streak tonight when they face the Syracuse Crunch (12-8-1-0). These two teams last met on October 28, when the Bulldogs defeated the Crunch in a high-scoring affair (7-6). In that game, the Bulldogs set two franchise records and tied another. LW Jean-Francois Jacques set a new record for the fastest three goals by a Bulldog in one game, scoring a natural hat trick in a span of 3:50 during the second period. Hamilton scored five power-play goals, which set a new team mark for most goals scored in one game with the man-advantage. The Bulldogs also allowed five power-play goals, which tied the franchise record for most power-play goals allowed in one game. The season series is tied at 1-1-0-0, with Syracuse defeating Hamilton at Copps Coliseum on October 26 (3-2).

The Bulldogs remain in seventh place in the North Division with 18 points and trail the sixth-place Cleveland Barons (9-15-1-1) by two points. Syracuse ranks fourth in the North, one point behind the Rochester Americans (13-10-0-0). Hamilton will return to action tomorrow night, Saturday, December 10, when they host the West Division leading Houston Aeros at Copps Coliseum (7:00 p.m.).

BULLDOGS NOTES - C Francis Lemieux signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, December 8.

- RW Andrei Kostitsyn had his five-game point scoring streak snapped on Wednesday, December 7 against Grand Rapids (4-3 L). During the streak, Kostitsyn recorded nine points (1g, 8a).

- C Marc-Antoine Pouliot scored against Grand Rapids and also added an assist. Pouliot now has five points in his last four games (1g, 4a).

- D Jeff Paul drew an assist on Pouliot's goal and now has two assists on the season. Both of Paul's assists have come against the Griffins.

- C Maxim Lapierre recorded his first point in six games when he assisted on the Bulldogs' third goal last game.

ALUMNI NOTES - Oilers C Jarret Stoll scored once and added an assist in Edmonton's 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers last night. Stoll ranks second on the Oilers with 26 points (11g, 15a).

- Stars D Trevor Daley scored his second goal of the season in Dallas' 4-3 win over Florida on Wednesday, December 7.

- Stars forward Antti Miettinen recorded two assists against Florida.

BULLDOGS BATTLE AEROS ON SATURDAY The Bulldogs next action will take place tomorrow night, Saturday, December 10 when the Houston Aeros visit Copps Coliseum for the first time since the 2003 Calder Cup Finals. The Bulldogs are holding ‘Stuffed Animal Night' on Saturday and fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed toy and toss it on the ice after the Bulldogs first goal! All toys that are collected will be distributed to local non-profit agencies in time for the holiday season. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
