
Hamilton Bulldogs announce new ECHL affiliate

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the Cincinnati Cyclones will serve as their ECHL affiliate for the 2006-2007 season.
The Cyclones, who last played in 2003-2004, will make their return to the ECHL in 2006-2007. Cincinnati, whose ECHL franchise was granted a voluntary suspension by the ECHL for the 2004-2005 and the 2005-2006 seasons, succeeds Long Beach as Hamilton's ECHL affiliate. The Ice Dogs were the Bulldogs' affiliate for the past two seasons.
In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League is the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. Over 80 percent of NHL players are AHL graduates, and more than 350 AHL players were recalled to the NHL during the 2005-2006 season alone.
