Halifax Mooseheads News Release

The Halifax Mooseheads will offer the most extensive broadcast schedule in the Club's history for the 2005-06 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season.

Partnering with Aliant, the Mooseheads will also be moving fulltime into the world of Internet broadcasting this year with all 35 homes games available on the Internet. Building on the success of last year's playoff games, Aliant Mooseheads Hockey can be accessed free of charge on www.halifaxmooseheads.ca. Aliant High Speed customers can also view the games through www.aliant.net. John Moore will be the play-by-play voice of the Mooseheads for all internet broadcasts. The first internet broadcast will feature the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at Halifax on Friday, September 23 at 7:00pm.

"We are very excited about adding this new element to our partnership with the Mooseheads," said Brad Sherriffs, Marketing Sponsorship Manager with Aliant. "Last year during the playoffs, we hosted our first Internet broadcast with the Mooseheads and reached a high of more than 23,000 views for the final game in the Rimouski series. We think that demonstrates a strong desire for hockey fans, especially young hockey fans, to have games available on a medium like the Internet."

Sports and Moore will again broadcast all 35 Mooseheads' road games. Radio coverage will be available on CJCH 920 AM and the world wide web through www.aliant.net or www.halifaxmooseheads.ca. John Moore will broadcast his pre- and post-game shows before and after all 70 Mooseheads' regular season games on CJCH 920 AM.

The Mooseheads will join the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and PEI Rocket for Friday Night Hockey on EastLink Television throughout the season. The Friday night schedule will feature the Mooseheads nine times from the Halifax Metro Centre and at least 4 times on the road. All games will be broadcast live without blackout areas. The first televised game will feature the Mooseheads at Cape Breton on Friday, September 16 at 7:00pm. Halifax Mooseheads games will be featured on the first four Fridays, with the full schedule to be released shortly.

Mooseheads President Kevin Cameron states, "This is the most comprehensive broadcast package in the club's history. The combination of various mediums allows us to reach as many of our fans as possible at this time."
