
Gwinnett Braves Homestand Highlights for July 20-27

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA - After an eight-game road trip following the Triple-A All-Star break, the Gwinnett Braves return home to Coolray Field for an eight-game homestand from Friday, July 20 through Friday, July 27. The G-Braves will host the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees (July 20-23) for four games and the International League South Division rival Durham Bulls (July 24-27) for four games.
The G-Braves are currently 2-4 on an eight-game road trip that has brought them to Louisville (1-3) and Indianapolis (1-1 with two games remaining). During the trip, Jose Constanza has continued his Gwinnett franchise-record hitting streak, reaching 20 games as of Tuesday night. Constanza is hitting .398 on the streak, tied for the longest in the IL this season, and now leads the league with a .322 batting average. Triple-A All-Star Ernesto Mejia is not far behind with a .309 average, good for fourth in the IL. The slugging first baseman has posted four-straight multi-hit games on the trip, batting .529 with two homers in that span.
The eight-game homestand opens on Friday, July 20 with "Julio Teheran Day" sponsored by PERT Plus. The G-Braves will honor right-hander Julio Teheran, last year's International League Most Valuable Pitcher and Rookie of the Year, before the 7:05 PM game with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The game, also sponsored by 12Stone, will be "Superhero Night" and features a post-game fireworks display courtesy of WAGA Fox 5 Atlanta.
Other promotions on the homestand include the Backpack Giveaway sponsored by Georgia Power on Saturday, July 21, "Christmas in July" on Wednesday, July 25 and "Olympic Games Night" on Friday, July 27.
