Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

The IronPigs (54-42) will play Game Three of a four-game against the fourth-place Durham Bulls (44-54) at Durham Bulls Athletic Park... With an 8-6 win last night, the Pigs have dropped three of their last four games and fallen to 3-6 on this eleven-game road trip. Despite going just 4-8 in their last 12 games, the Pigs have gone 23-17 in their 40 contests to go from 4.5-games out to 0.5-games up in the North... The Bulls -- Tampa's top affiliate -- snapped their seven-game losing streak (their second-longest this season after a 13-game skid April 16-29). Still, the Bulls are just 3-9 in their last 12 affairs after a going 15-7 from June 10 to July 2.

LHP Pat Misch (7-10, 4.50) will start for LHV against RHP Matt Torra (8-6, 4.22).

First-pitch tonight is 7:05 p.m.

SOLE BROTHERS:

With CHA coming from behind to win 5-4 at SWB last night, the Pigs maintained sole possession of first place in the North by 0.5-games over PAW -- marking the 16th consecutive day they've held the top spot... LHV has been in sole possession of first place in the North since a DH sweep 7/1 vs. PAW... Overall, they've now spent 26 days in sole possession and 41 days with at least a share for the North lead this season, snapping a 66-day drought from 4/22-6/25.

A-PHILLI-ATION CONTINUATION:

Today, the IronPigs and Phillies announced a four-year extension of their Player Development Contract, maintaining the two clubs' affiliation through at least 2016 -- the maximum permitted under the agreement between MLB and MiLB... Ten members of the Phillies current 25-man roster are among a collection of 50 players and one coach (hitting coach Greg Gross) that have made the leap from "The Pigs to the Bigs" since LHV's inception in 2008... Already this season, the Pigs have sent 10 to Philadelphia.

JUST-IN TIME!:

RHP Justin DeFratus, who has been recovering from a right elbow strain since 5/26, was activated off the 60-Day D.L. and optioned to LHV today... He had rehabbed with 2 G with the GCL Phils (2.0 ip, 1 h, 0 r, 0 er, 0 bb, 3 k) and 2 G in Clearwater (2.0 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 0 er, 0 bb, 1 k)... To make room, INF Tug Hulett was assigned to Reading (AA).

* The Pigs closer for the 2nd half of 2011 finished the MiLB season going 1-0, 1.29, 2 SV (14 ip, 2 r, 2 er, 24 k) in his last 12 G with LHV -- including 5 G in the IL playoffs... He then made his ML debut 9/18 and went 1-0, 2.25 in 5 G with Philadelphia
