TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Toledo Mud Hens in the third game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd erupted last night with a 17-1 win, the Herd's largest margin of victory in Coca-Cola Field history. Buffalo will host Charlotte for a four-game set beginning on Friday night.

vs. MUD HENS: The Bisons are now 3-3 against the Mud Hens this season. The clubs split a four-game series at Fifth Third Field, June 1-4. Since their return to the International League in 1998, the Herd is 33-26 (.559) against the Mud Hens at Coca-Cola Field.

WE ARE FAMILIA : RHP JEURYS FAMILIA takes the mound tonight for a league-leading 20th start. Familia is coming off back-to-back quality starts. In those two wins, the righty has allowed 10 hits, one earned run, two walks and 11 strikeouts in 12.1 innings of work. Familia also delivered a quality start the last time he faced the Mud Hens, On June 1 in Toledo, Familia allowed just three runs on six hits in six innings, but fell in defeat.

LOEWEN: INF ADAM LOEWEN has homered in three consecutive games. Loewen hit a solo shot last night and is now batting .311 (14-45) with five home runs and 12RBI in nine games since returning from the disabled list on July 4. Loewen now has 21RBI in 22 total games with the Bisons this season.

HR-DERBY, PART II: The Bisons hit four home runs in the 8th inning last night, with INF OSWALDO NAVARRO and INF ADAM LOEWEN going back-to-back to start the inning off. OF MATT DEN DEKKER and OF FRED LEWIS also went deep. Buffalo ranks 3rd in the IL with 98 homers this year.

BISON BITS: OF FRED LEWIS' extended his hitting streak to eight games going 2-5 last night with a home run...INF OSWALDO NAVARRO hit a pinch-hit home run in the 8th inning last night, the Bisons first since INF JORDANY VALDESPIN hit one May 19 against Indy...The Bisons are 9-2 on Wednesdays this season including a mark of 6-0 at home. On Wednesdays, Buffalo has outscored their opponents 74-32...INF JOSH SATIN scored four times last night and has drawn a walk in six straight games. His .397 on-base percentage is 3rd-best in the IL.

METS UPDATE : The Mets lost an extra-inning affair last night, 5-4. Former Bison INF JORDANY VALDESPIN hit his third pinch-hit home run in the top of the 9th last night. RHP CHRIS YOUNG takes the hill tonight for the Mets on ESPN (7:00 p.m.). New York is in third place in the NL East division, seven games behind the Nationals.
