The Lead: The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Toledo Mud Hens 7-3 Tuesday night at Fifth Third Field in Toledo, OH. G-Braves starting pitcher Ryne Reynoso struck out 8 batters, which sets his Triple-A career-high and ties his career-high on every level of Minor League Baseball. He struck out 8 batters on May 10, 2010 as a member of the Braves' Double-A affiliate Mississippi. Gwinnett (37-42) is 10.5 games behind Durham in the International League South while Toledo (41-38) is 5 games behind Columbus in the IL West division.

It Was Over When: In the top of the 5th inning with Toledo ahead 3-1, the G-Braves scored 4 runs thanks to RBI from Matt Young, Freddie Freeman, and Diory Hernandez. By the end of the inning, Gwinnett had taken the lead with the score of 5-3. Toledo never regained the lead.

Braves Beat:

On the Mound: Reynoso (2-5) earned the second win of his Triple-A career, allowing only 3 R (2 ER) on 5 hits in his five innings of work. The Braves bullpen (Vladimir Nunez, Cory Gearrin, and Stephen Marek) held the Mud Hens scoreless in the final four innings, while striking out 4 batters.

At the plate: Freeman (2-for-5, 3 RBI) hit his 8th home run of the year, a solo shot in the 9th inning. Hernandez went 2-for-5 with 2 RBI. Young went 2-for-4 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.

The opposition:

On the Mound: Rick Porcello (1-1) earned his first loss on the Triple-A level, allowing 5 R/ER on 10 hits.

At the plate: Will Rhymes went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored. Jeff Frazier went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI.

On Deck: Gwinnett takes on Toledo in game two of a four-game series tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. Toledo will start RHP L.J. Gagnier (3-3, 3.50 ERA) while the G-Braves send LHP Jose Ortegano (2-4, 5.14 ERA) to the mound.
