Gutty Kester Shuts Down Surf

Pennsylvania Road Warriors righthander Tim Kester pitched a complete game and allowed just two runs on 10 hits to lead the Road Warriors to a 5-2 victory over the Atlantic City Surf before 1425 at the Sandcastle Sunday night.

Kester, 3-7, struck out seven and walked two. The Road Warriors broke a 2-2 deadlock with three runs in the top of the eighth inning against Surf reliever Randi Mallard who took the loss. Atlantic City''s Pito Ramirez was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Atlantic City. Garry Lee Maddox also drove in a run for the Surf. Pennsylvania right fielder Javier Sein made a good catch up against the wall against a deep fly ball hit by Maddox with two runners on in the seventh to keep it a tie game before Pennsylvania brole it open in the eighth.

The two teams play again Monday night at the Samdcastle with Maximo Nunez going against Pat Danekar.
