
Gutierrez, Laber Added to the All-Star Roster

YPSILANTI, MI - Jorge Gutierrez and Jake Laber will join five other Rascals at the July 15th All-Star Game in Rockford. Chad Parker used two of his three manager selections to bring some familiar faces to the West Division roster. Bryce Florie and Steve Brook will join Parker on the coaching staff.
Gutierrez will back up Southern Illinois shortstop, Tony Roth, on the West Division squad. The Miami, Florida resident is currently hitting .285 with one home run and 20 runs batted in. Gutierrez also has nine doubles, 16 runs scored and six steals in six attempts on the season. He is one of three Rascals to appear in all 43 games this season.
Laber is making his first All-Star appearance in his second season with the Rascals. The southpaw is 5-2 with a 4.06 ERA in 10 starts with one complete game. The North Dakota State product is third in the league in innings pitched (62) and tied for first in strikeouts (58). Opponents are hitting only.250 against Laber this season.
Windy City outfielder, J.T. Restko, was the third selection by Parker. Restko is batting .319 with nine home runs and 31 RBI for Windy City. ThunderBolts bench coach, Mike Kashirsky, will join the West Division coaching staff as well.
