
Grizzlies Defense Steals the Show in Final Two Games in Winnipeg Arena

The Utah Grizzlies headed up to Manitoba to take in the Moose in what was the final two games in the storied history of the Winnipeg Arena. The star of the two game set was second-year goaltender David LeNeveu who allowed just three goals in six period, an overtime and a shootout. On Thursday night, LeNeveu made 43 saves in a hard luck 2-1 regulation loss for the Grizzlies. Kiel McLeod scored the Grizzlies only goal, his second of the season. Utah responded on Saturday night with a 2-1 shootout victory. Randall Gelech scored his first professional goal tying the game for the Grizzlies at the 13:50 mark of the third period. The game eventually went to overtime and than a shootout with Jeff Taffe scoring the only goal in the shootout beating former Grizzly Wade Flaherty. LeNeveu stopped all five Moose shooters in the shootout preserving the Grizzlies first win of the season.

Game Date Changed
~The Grizzlies game versus the Edmonton Road Runners originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 13 at the âE' Center has been changed to Tuesday, February 1 at the âE' Center. All tickets and parking passes printed for the Nov. 13 date will be honored at the game on Feb. 1. Call the Grizzlies ticket offices with any questions, (801) 988-PUCK (7825).
Grizzlies Goaltender Turns the Corner
~David LeNeveu is on quite a high lately allowing just four goals in his last three starts. Over that stretch, the all-star has made 100 saves on 104 shots (96.2%) but has been able to win just one of those three starts as the Grizzlies have posted just three goals. On the season, LeNeveu's goals against average has crept down to 2.59 and his save percentage is up to .918.
First Ever Meeting with Road Runner on the Horizon:
~The Grizzlies host the Edmonton Road Runners this week in the two club's first regular season meeting. The teams met twice in the pre-season with Utah shutting out the Runners 3-0 and winning as well in a shootout. Edmonton is in the midst of a seven game road trip that has seen them travel to St.John's, Newfoundland, San Jose, CA with visits also set for Utah, Houston and Hamilton.
