Metairie, LA – Damon Minor hit three home runs to lead the Fresno Grizzlies (19-22) Class AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants to a 7 to 2 victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs (25-18) Class AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate of the Houston Astros on Sunday Afternoon at Zephyr Field in front of 4,631.

Grizzlies outfielder Todd Linden led off the game with a double to left center off Zephyrs starter Jared Fernandez. Linden scored on a single from Brian Dallimore. Minor hit his first run of the game after Dallimore was picked off. Minor then hit his second home run of the game leading off the fourth inning.

After Linden scored on a single from Dallimore in the fifth, Minor hit his third of the game and eighth of the season to make the score 7-0. Minor became the first player in Zephyr Field history to hit three home runs in a game. New Orleans would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth as Alan Zinter hit a solo home run, his third of the season.

Grizzlies starter Jerome Williams (3-1) would pick up the win pitching a complete game allowing two runs on six hits striking out eight while walking only one. Fernandez (4-3) would suffer the loss for the Z's pitching 4 1/3 innings allowing six runs on nine hits.

The Astros signed lefthanded pitcher Ron Villone to a minor-league contract and will report to the Zephyrs on Monday. Villone was 1-1 with one save and 3.55 ERA in 15 relief appearances for the Class AAA Tucson Sidewinders.

The Zephyrs and Albuquerque Isotopes will open a four game series on Monday at 7:05 p.m. Monday is Military Monday.
