PORTLAND, Ore. - The Beavers lost their sixth game in eight tries as Luis Lopez went 2 for 4 with a homerun and four RBIs in a 7-4 Sacramento win Sunday before 4,391 at PGE Park.
Erik Hiljus (2-0) gave up six hits and two runs in six innings for Sacramento.
Graham Koonce started things off early in the first with a two-run double that put Sacramento on top 2-0. Lopez then hit a two-run shot in the next inning to widen the gap and make it an uphill struggle the rest of the way for the Beavers.
Ben Howard (3-3), Rob Ramsay and Kris Keller combined to give up 11 hits in the loss.
Ben Risinger and Jermaine Clark both hit solo homeruns for the Beavers and Bernie Casto went 2 for 4 with two stolen bases and a run in the losing effort.
