PORTLAND, Ore. - The Beavers snapped a three-game losing streak on homeruns by Jermaine Clark and Alex Pelaez, shutting out the Sacramento River Cats 3-0 in front of 4,417 Saturday at PGE Park.
Left-hander Oliver Perez (2-1) went six innings in the win, allowing two hits and striking out five.
Jermaine Clark hit his first homerun as a Beaver with a solo shot to right to put Portland on the board 1-0.
After a Jason Bay infield single in the fourth, Alex Pelaez smacked a two-run homer off the scoreboard, giving the Beavers a 3-0 lead from which Sacramento would never recover.
Notes...LHP Chris Cumberland was transferred to Portland from Extended Spring Training.
