Grizzlies Defeat Freedom; Take Divisional Series Lead

FLORENCE, KY - Chris Enourato threw five superb innings and the Gateway Grizzlies collected five runs on eight hits to take a divisional series lead with a 5-2 win against Florence Saturday night at the Home of the Freedom.

Enourato allowed only five hits and one run while striking out four batters.

The Grizzlies bullpen did the rest, allowing only one run in four innings. Jordan Cudney threw two scoreless innings and Richard Barrett picked up his second postseason save.

Gateway scored five unanswered runs from the fifth through the eighth innings after falling behind 1-0. Chris McClendon drove in two runs, Jerod Yakubik picked up an RBI single and Rogelio Noris hit his seventh home run in his last seven games.

The win gave the Grizzlies a 2-1 series lead and puts them one win away from advancing to the Frontier League Championship series.

Right-hander Paul Tremlin gets the start for the Grizzlies Sunday night in the fourth game of the series. First pitch is set for 5:05 CT.
