Grizzlies beat by Barons, 4-1

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies struggled early on Saturday night against the Cleveland Barons falling behind 4-0 before rallying in the second half of the game only to fall short 4-1. The loss was the ninth in the last 10 games for Utah.

Josh Prudden and Doug Murray scored first period goals for the Barons giving the visitors the early lead. Prudden's came less than four minutes into the game and Murrays was off a power play blast. The Barons outshot the Grizzlies 11-5 in the opening period.

In the second frame, the Grizzlies outshot the Barons 20-11 but couldn't get even with Cleveland allowing goals from Tim Conboy and Tomas Plihal. The only goal for Utah was scored on a rebound by Aaron Gavey, his second goal in two nights, assisted by Peter White and Fredrik Sjostrom.

Utah outshot the Barons 36-32 in the games but it wasn;t enough as Dimitri Patzold made 35 saves earning the victory. David LeNeveu made 28 saves for the Grizzlies in the losing effort.

Utah will host the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday night at the 'E' Center with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
