Soo Greyhounds News Release
Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced this afternoon his fourth consecutive commitment from the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.
Greyhounds 4th Round Selection ANDREW GIBSON was the latest to sign a standard player agreement and education package with the club.
"Andrew had a very strong training camp with us - each day improving as he got more comfortable.
One of his biggest strengths is on the defensive side of the puck. He's a skilled skater who uses his physicality and long reach to break up plays and activate the attack. We are really impressed with his efficiency in moving the puck and his ability to add to his teams offensive attack" stated Raftis.
The 6.03, 188-lb rearguard last played with the Windsor AAA Zone Jr. Spitfires U16 club in 2019-20 where he recorded 11 goals and 17 assists (28 points) in 32 regular season games played.
"We believe Andrew is just beginning to show the player he is capable of becoming and we are excited to have him be apart of our program moving forward" concluded GM Kyle Raftis.
After originally signing with the Soo Thunderbirds Jr. A Hockey Club this past July, today's announcement brings a lot of excitement for the LaSalle, ON native who is ready to dawn the Hounds red and white.
"It is an honour to sign with and be a part of such a great organization. I know the Soo is a great hockey city with an amazing fan base. I cannot wait to take the ice with a Greyhounds jersey on"
