
Firebirds Acquire James Mayotte from North Bay

Flint, Mich. -ÃÂ ÃÂ The Flint Firebirds announced today they haveÃÂ acquired defensemanÃÂ James Mayotte from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
"We are very excited that we were able to work a trade out for James Mayotte," President Hockey of Operations Terry Christensen said. "I have known James for the last couple of years and we believe that he will be a very good defenseman for us."
Mayotte played in 50 games for the Battalion during the 2019-20 season, where he produced 1 G and 8 A. The native of Mallorytown, ON was a fifth-round pick (#89 overall) back in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. Prior to his time in North Bay, Mayotte attended Shattuck St. Mary's prep school where he had 20 points (8 G, 12 A) in 55 GP at the U18 AAA level during the 2018-19 season.
