Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that right wing Greg Hogeboom has been re-called by Manchester. The leading scorer for the Royals (9g - 17a =26pts), Hogeboom is currently riding a twelve game point streak (8g - 14a = 22 pts), the longest in the ECHL this season. Hogeboom, who played his college hockey at the University of Miami (Ohio), had a five game goal scoring streak snapped on Tuesday in the Royals' 5-2 loss to the Wheeling Nailers. A fifth round pick of the Kings in the 2002 NHL Entry draft, Hogeboom was selected as the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for November. Over the course of the season with Reading, Hogeboom has had ten multi-point games and has had at least one point in 15 of the 19 games he's played with the Royals. This marks the second trip to the AHL this season for Hogeboom, who was recalled to Manchester on November 19, played one game with the Monarchs and was reassigned to the Royals on November 22.
Reading is back in action on Friday night (7:30 pm), when the team meets the Nailers again at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia. The game can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata and on the internet at www.royalshockey.com with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before the opening face-off. The Royals return home for another "Rock The House Weekend" on Saturday (7:00 pm) and Sunday (1:00 pm), when the Fresno Falcons visit the Sovereign Center for the only time this season. Any fan who purchases a full price ticket to Saturday's game can get the same seat for Sunday's matinee contest for only $5.00. On Saturday, the first fifteen hundred fans 21 and older will receive Yuengling Hats, courtesy of All Star Distributing. Sunday's game is sponsored by Advance Auto Parts. The first twenty five hundred fans in attendance will receive a Royals Poster, courtesy of the Reading Eagle, and the first two thousand fans will receive Comcast Thundersticks.
