Troy, OH - The Dayton Bombers suffered a 4-2 loss to the Wheeling Nailers in front of 2,876 at Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio Thursday night. The Nailers rallied from a 2-0 defecit, and now own the top spot in the North Division.
The Bombers scored a pair of powerplay goals, 38 seconds apart, in the first period to open a 2-0 lead. Brian Gornick notched his 8th goal of the season at 11:35, and Scott Cameron recorded his 9th goal at 12:13 giving Dayton a 2-goal lead after the first period.
The only goal in the second period was a powerplay goal by Wheeling's Kurtis McLean at 9:32.
Then, the Nailers scored three times in the third period to seal the 4-2 win. McLean tied the game, 2-2, at 13:39. Pascal Morency scored the game-winning goal at 15:17. And McLean finished the hat trick at 16:55. The Nailers outshot the Bombers 29-26.
Dayton is back in action Friday night when the Bombers face the Trenton Titans at Soveriegn Bank Arena at 7:30 PM (WONE-AM 980).
