Greenville Loses Fourth Game of Series to Hickory

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive suffered another loss to the Hickory Crawdads making it their fourth loss of the series. The game ended with a score of Hickory 15-11.

The Crawdads began their lead in the first inning when hits from Cody Freeman and Trevor Hauver scored the team two runs. However, Matthew Lugo from the Drive answered Hickory when he hit a triple to send Ceddanne Rafaela home.

Hickory furthered their lead when Aaron Zavala hit a single allowing two other baserunners to come home at the top of the second. Nick Decker answered with a homerun to make the score Hickory 4-2.

The Crawdads had a busy fourth inning where they scored six more runs. Hits from Zavala, Evan Carter, and Freeman scored four runs, while a homer from Trevor Hauver added two more.

Nicholas Northcut from the Drive hit his 15th home run of the season which sent Alex Binelas home at the bottom of the fourth.

After Hickory scored no runs at the top of the fifth, Greenville took an opportunity to catch up to the Crawdads. Heads up baserunning allowed Tyler McDonough to score a run, and Binelas' sacrifice fly allowed Matthew Lugo to score.

The Crawdads scored three more runs after hits from Frainyer Chavez, Hauver, and Thomas Saggese at the top of the sixth inning.

Lugo hit a double allowing Rafaela to make it home before advancing to third himself at the bottom of the seventh. Binelas went out on a sacrifice play to allow Lugo to score a run.

Hickory extended their lead further when Carter and Chavez scored two runs. After the top of the eighth, Hickory led 15-8.

A final effort by Binelas allowed McDonough and Lugo to score two runs, however Hickory still came out on top with a score of 15-11.

The final game of the series with the Crawdads will be played at 3:05 on Fluor Field.
