
Greenville Finishes Strong against Walleye in Victory

Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first period to defeat the Toledo Walleye 4-3.
Toledo scored two goals in the first 3:51. Randy Rowe and Doug Clarkson each scored to put the Walleye up 2-0. Toledo dominated the first period and didn't allow a shot on goal until 11 minutes in. Greenville would begin to chip away at the lead with Brandon Wong scoring his 12th goal of the year on a slapshot that scorched past goaltender Kent Simpson.
The second period was controlled by Greenville who outshot the Walleye 18-9 in the sequence. Neither team scored but the special teams made an appearance for the first time in the game. Greenville had two powerplays to Toledo's one.
Greenville came out in the third period with a quick goal just 1:12 in. Brendan Connolly scored his ninth goal of the year to tie the game at two. Danny Hobbs scored 5:10 later off a wrist shot to put Greenville up 3-2. Terry Broadhurst tied the game up at four with a breakaway goal that beat Jason Missiaen blocker side. Greenville would regain the lead for good with Bretton Cameron scoring his fifth goal of the year on a rebound opportunity. Missiaen won his third game of the year with 33 saves. Simpsons took the loss with 25 saves.
The Road Warriors finish Go "Green" ville weekend tomorrow night against Toledo at 7 p.m. The first 1,500 fans receive an eco-friendly Road Warriors lunch bag courtesy of Scene on Seven, B93.7 and Magic 98.9.
