Greenville, SC ‚¬" Bowling Green's pitching staff shutout the Drive for the second game in-a-row while scoring seven runs in the middle innings to secure their fourth-straight victory by a score of 8-0 Friday night at Fluor Field.

The loss gave the Drive a record of 0-4 on the year. Bowling Green improved to 4-0

The Hot Rods got on the board first in the second inning on the strength of a Ruben Cardenas solo home run to center field.

Three innings later, a Roberto Alvarez single just snuck by the Drive first baseman to plate a run and extend the Hot Rods' lead to 2-0.

Bowling Green took control of the game in the fifth by plating four runs. First, Cardenas added his second RBI of the game via a sac fly to center field. Two batters later, Grant Witherspoon hit a three-run clout that cleared the batter's eye in center field, giving the Hot Rods a 6-0 lead.

Blake Hunt capped the scoring in the top of the sixth inning when he lashed a two-run single to left for an 8-0 lead.

Greenville's starting pitcher, Chris Murphy, was tagged with the loss. He hurled 4.0 innings and allowed two runs on five hits and two walks. He fanned a game-high seven batters.

Drive catcher Kole Cottam secured his first two-hit game of the season with two singles.

Joseph LaSorsa earned the win by coming in relief and throwing 3.2 innings of shutout ball. He surrendered two hits and one walk with three strikeouts.

The fifth game of the series is set for Saturday night at 7:05 at Fluor Field. Right-hander Brayan Bello is set to take the mound for the Drive against right-hander Michael Mercado.
