Greenville Drive News Release

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive suffered a tough 14-2 loss to the Greensboro Grasshoppers Friday Night at First National Bank Field.

The Drive were the first to strike by putting two runs on the board in the second inning. Brandon Howlett's double brought Gilberto Jimenez and Jaxx Groshans home.

The Grasshoppers answered in a big way in the third inning. The five-run inning started with an Eli Wilson home run. The runs continued thanks to a two-run RBI from Abrahan Gutierrez. Gutierrez also crossed the dish from Dariel Lopez hitting one out.

The next two frames were scoreless until Greensboro hung six on Greenville. Hudson Head's two-run homer got the bats rolling. Jackson Glenn reached on a throwing error and found his way home thanks to a walk. Jordan DiValerio's wild pitch hit Francisco Acuna, and he walked Endy Rodriguez and Yoyner Fajardo. All of which came home.

The nail in the coffin was the three runs the Grasshoppers added in seventh.

The Drive continues the series against the Grasshoppers tomorrow at 6:30 PM.
