(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, fell 111-107 in another close game with the Lakeland Magic (Orlando Magic affiliate) on Saturday at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. James Bouknight matched his point total from the first game of the back-to-back, stuffing the stat sheet with 27 points, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in 35 minutes.
Greensboro built a 56-48 lead entering halftime but strong shooting from the Magic in the third quarter ended with a nine-point lead edge for Lakeland. In the quarter, the Magic was 13-of-23 from the field with nine of those baskets being 3-pointers. Aleem Ford (game-high 23 points) was responsible for four triples in the frame, seven total in the game. The Magic outscored the Swarm 35-18 in the quarter to lead 83-74.
However the Swarm had a response of their own but it came after Lakeland upped the lead to 15 points. The 18-0 rally started with a Kai Jones dunk (nine points, five rebounds) and featured three Jalen Crutcher (17 points, four rebounds) 3-pointers. After taking the lead 90-89, the two sides would ultimately be tied at 107 with less than a minute remaining in regulation.
The next basket was from Lakeland's Jeremiah Tilmon who put the Magic up 109-107 on a putback dunk with 16.9 seconds left. On the next possession, a Swarm turnover resulted in two Hassani Gravett (16 points, seven assists) free throws which secured the two possession victory for Lakeland.
