CHARLESTON, SC -- Third baseman Simon Klink belted a three-run home run in Augusta's five-run fifth inning leading a 19-hit attack as the GreenJackets bombed the Charleston RiverDogs, 11-6, in South Atlantic League action Monday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. After falling behind 5-0 after three innings, the GreenJackets scored 11 of the game's final 12 runs.

Right fielder Brian Horwitz collected five of Augusta's 19 hits, scored twice and drove home a pair of runs. Klink, who finished 2-for-3 on the evening, drove home four runs total and scored one, while catcher Nick Conte also contributed three hits and an RBI.

With the game that was scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. delayed 1:17 due to rain, Augusta came back from the 5-0 deficit to win its second contest in three tries against the hosting RiverDogs. The victory improves Augusta's second half record to 18-18 and 58-45 overall while Charleston slips to 16-20 in the second half and 59-46 overall. It also marked the RiverDogs' fifth consecutive game that lasted more than three hours.

The 19 hits in the game for Augusta marked the second most allowed by Charleston pitching in any game this season, as the GreenJackets had recorded 20 hits in a win over the RiverDogs on July 8. Horwitz becomes the first RiverDogs' opponent to collect five hits in a game this season, doing so in six at-bats.

With the score 5-1 heading into the fifth inning, the GreenJackets recorded six hits in seven batters against starter Phil Coke. After Jon Armitage drove home the first run of the inning with a ground out, Julian Benavidez doubled to deep left center to score Horwitz, who had doubled. Danny Trumble then singled up the middle, setting the stage for Klink's three-run blast, his seventh of the season, which cleared the left field fence and put Augusta ahead for good.

Augusta starter Darren Sack pitched into the sixth inning to earn his sixth win against five defeats. Sack struggled early, allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits while walking three and striking out four. He was relieved in the sixth by Sean Martin, who picked up his fifth save on the year as he pitched 3.1 innings, allowing one run on two hits and struck out six RiverDogs. On the evening, the GreenJackets fanned a total of 10 Charleston batters.

Coke suffered the loss which dropped his record to 6-7. Coke lasted 4.1 innings, allowed six runs on 12 hits, walked one and fanned four. Kevin Rival and Shaun Parker finished the 4.2 innings and together allowed five runs on seven hits.

Game Four of the four-game series is slated for Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. with Osiris Matos (4-6) pitching for Augusta while Charleston will go with Chase Wright (6-4).
