Columbus Catfish News Release

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish will be appearing at Columbus-area businesses over the next couple of weeks promoting Season Tickets for the 2006 season. With every new Season Ticket purchased for the 2006 baseball season, fans will receive one Season Ticket for the remainder of the 2005 baseball season free of charge.

"We are very excited to get out and start promoting next season", said Catfish General Manager Jim Beaudoin. "We have had a very successful 2005 season so far. We are looking to actively build on that success and grow even more for the following years. Now that our schedule for 2006 is in place, it gives us the opportunity to get out to the fans while people are still excited about baseball."

August proves to be a promotion-filled month at Golden Park. The month consists of three bobblehead giveaways (Tommy Lasorda, Lou Gehrig, Edwin Jackson), a fireworks display, Faith Night concert series, Shirt-off-their-backs auction, and "Bark in the Park" family pet night among other promotions.

"We have kept things exciting at Golden Park during the 2005 season, and some of our best promotions are yet to come! Being able to get a free Season Ticket for the remainder of the 2005 calendar provides fans with some great fun for the final 20 games of the season."

Season Tickets range from $350.00 - $420.00 per seat depending on location, and feature various perks. Beyond having the same great seat location for all Catfish home games, Season Ticket Holders receive a 10% discount on merchandise in the Catfish Souvenir Store, a chance to take batting practice on the field, and invitations to monthly luncheons presented by the Catfish. A Season Ticket redemption program ensures that no game ticket goes to waste.

The Catfish return to Golden Park to face the rival Rome Braves on August 4th at 7:00pm. The first 500 fans will receive a Tommy Lasorda bobblehead doll courtesy of Delta Airlines. One lucky fan will also win round-trip airfare for two anywhere in the continental United States courtesy of the Columbus Catfish and Delta Airlines. Gates open at 6:00pm, but fans are encouraged to arrive early for the giveaway. Tickets for all Catfish home games can be purchased by calling the Catfish box office at 571-8866, or on-line at www.columbuscatfish.com.
