Greenfield sees recognition for weekend performance

(Southfield, Mich., January 29, 2007) - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced today that Detroit Ignition defender Jonathan Greenfield has been named Co-Defensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending January 28. In what was arguably his best performance of the season, Greenfield registered one three-point goal, one two-point goal and four blocks during a 10-6 victory over the defending MISL Champion Baltimore Blast on Saturday, January 27 before adding two more blocks in a one-point loss to the Philadelphia KiXX on Sunday, January 28. Earlier this season, Greenfield became the first-ever player for the MISL Expansion club to receive a MISL Defensive Player of the Month accolade.
Goalkeeper of the Week recognition went to Jim Larkin of the Chicago Storm who allowed just five goals in three games over the week. Sharing Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors with Greenfield was Troy Dusosky of the Milwaukee Wave who registered four goals and nine points in a Milwaukee weekend sweep of California. Brian Farber of the California Cougars was awarded the Offensive Player of the Week award for registering a League-high, and career-best, 13-point performance over two games this week.
