Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Green Bay Blizzard will look to get back in the win column when they take on the Iowa Barnstormers in Des Moines, Iowa at 7:05 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 3rd.

Saturday's matchup will be the third and final time the two teams face off in the 2023 regular season. Green Bay is 2-0 against the Barnstormers this year, with both double-digit victories played at home at the Resch Center. The two teams most recently met only two weeks ago in a Week 10 matchup. Blizzard quarterback Max Meylor put on a clinic, throwing four touchdowns and adding three on the ground.

Green Bay (4-5) fell to the Quad City Steamwheelers 56-63 in Week 11. A sloppy, undisciplined effort cost the Blizzard a crucial Eastern Conference road win. Despite Green Bay's offense putting up their third highest point total of the season, it wasn't enough to keep up with Quad City's potent offense. The Blizzard defense allowed the Steamwheelers to score on every offensive possession.

Green Bay's defense will face a significantly less high-powered offense this week. Iowa (1-8) is coming off of a 77-26 home loss to the Sioux Falls Storm. The Barnstormers' defense was gashed for 11 total touchdowns while their offense managed to put up only six first half points. The Blizzard will look to shut down wide receiver Keshaun Taylor, who gashed his former team for 107 yards and four touchdowns in Week 10.

Green Bay is in desperate need of a win to stay alive in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The top four teams in the conference will make the playoffs, and the Blizzard are currently sitting in fifth place.
