IFL Indoor Football League

IFL Week Twelve Preview

Published on June 2, 2023 under Indoor Football League (IFL) News Release

Week 12 is upon us and the weight of each game is growing as we enter the playoff stretch.

Vegas will host Tucson and Ramone Atkins this week. The Western Conference is packed. Just a few games separate most teams. The Sugar Skulls (4-4) sit at fourth while the Knight Hawks (5-4) are tied for fifth.

Frisco goes on the road to square off with a hot Massachusetts squad. The Pirates have won their last two matchups as they continue to battle themselves into a playoff spot. But they'll face a big test when they welcome TJ Edwards and the Fighters, who have lost just one game.

Green Bay will face Iowa as they aim to jump back above .500. Maxwell Meylor has stepped in for Ja'rome Johnson and done well, but in order to get them back into a good spot down the stretch the Blizzard will need to string together some wins. For Iowa, they're playing for pride in a season that has been riddled by injuries.

Perhaps no team is hotter right now than Bay Area. They're the only team in the league to beat Frisco and have won five of their last six games. Dalton Sneed and Justin Rankin have been unstoppable. Duke City will face the tough task of slowing them down.

Arizona will be going on the road to face Northern Arizona, who had been on top of the West. But after two straight losses, they dropped down to second place. Arizona's win last week tied them for second place. Now the winner of the battle could take sole possession of second place.

Tulsa and San Diego will face off in a battle of two of the bottom three teams in the overall standings. Nate Davis is the biggest story as his arrival has seen him throw for over 200 yards in nearly every game thus far. Tulsa doesn't have the wins to show but they have pushed some very good teams to the edge.

The season rolls on in week 12, featuring five games on Saturday and one on Sunday. Tucson kicks off the weekend action in Vegas at 2:05 p.m. CT on Saturday. For the full schedule and how to watch, go to www.GoIFL.com.
