BELOIT, Wisc - The Snappers defeated the Peoria Chiefs by a score of 3-1. The biggest helping hand to this victory was the great pitching from Dylan Covey and Sam Bragg.

Covey started the game and got the win as he only gave up three hits and one earned run off of a solo homer in the fifth from Peoria's right fielder, Jimmy Bosco, in his solid seven innings before being replaced by Sam Bragg. Bragg got the save as he pitched two hitless innings and finished the night with a 1.53 ERA.

Peoria's pitching was decent as well but Beloit managed to weasel three runs out of them. The first run was scored by Boog Powell after Jaycob Brugman hit a sacrifice fly to center field. The next run for the Snappers came in the sixth when Tyler Marincov doubled on a fly ball to center field to score BA Vollmuth. Marincov wasn't done just yet. In the eighth he hit a solo homer to center, his second of the year. Beloit managed to hold on the lead in this one to win, 3-1.

The Snappers finish their home series against Peoria tomorrow in a day game starting at 11:00am, the first school day game of the season, as they try to tie the series 2-2. If you can't swing over for a long lunch, the game will be on The Big AM 1380 and www.thebigam1380.com.
