Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

While the fish are away, the cows will play.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes announced today plans for the first ever Grazing in the Outfield dinner at Shaw Park on Thursday, July 23, in support of the Field of Dreams Foundation.

Hosted by Dairy Farmers of Manitoba (DFM), this unique event allows guests to dine in the outfield of Shaw Park and enjoy chef Ben Kramer's unique ballpark-style food creations, with an emphasis on dairy products.

"Dairy Farmers of Manitoba has been a wonderful supporter of the Winnipeg Goldeyes for many years and we're thrilled to partner on this event," Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said. "It's sure to be a fun-filled, educational evening, while also serving as a great fundraiser for the Field of Dreams Foundation."

During the evening, guests will witness a cow milking demonstration and learn about the process of bringing the farm to the fork.

"For Grazing in the Outfield, we are bringing the dairy farm to Winnipeg," DFM Market Development Director Jason Brandes said. "'Farm-to-fork' dinners like this are popular because consumers today want to feel more connected to where their food comes from. They want to meet local farmers and be confident that their food is being produced to the highest standards. There will be dairy farmers at the event to answer their questions about what they do every day to put milk on their table."

"I can't wait to show Winnipeg our twist on ballpark food in such a beautiful setting," chef Ben Kramer said. "We have had a blast at every DFM event we have partnered with, and this one is no different! It's such an honour to be able to participate in such fun events and help raise money for such a worthy cause."

Tickets are $200 for the evening and there are only 200 tickets available. All proceeds will support the Winnipeg Goldeyes Field of Dreams Foundation, which has raised nearly $2 million for children's charities in Manitoba.

"This promises to be a great event and a wonderful opportunity for the Field of Dreams Foundation and our supporters to raise even more funds in support of children's charities in Manitoba," said Field of Dreams president Tony Fletcher. 0 0 1 353 2013 Wintergreen Financial Services Ltd. 16 4 2362 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE table.MsoNormalTable
