
Grasshoppers Take Down the Drive 5-1, Friday Evening

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greensboro Grasshoppers take down the Greenville Drive, 5-1 on Friday, August 11. The Grasshoppers improved to 20-19 in the second half of the season while the Drive fell to 18-22. Greensboro outhit Greenville 8-4 as the Drive had four mishaps.
Leading at the plate for the Grasshoppers was Jack Brannigan as he went 2-5 with his sixth consecutive home run in five games, one RBI, and one run scored. Brenden Dixon also tallied a home run for the Grasshoppers.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Derek Diamond as he tallied nine strikeouts and gave up three hits, one earned run, and three free bases on five innings of work. Diamond recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 2-0 on the season.
Dalton Rogers took the loss for the Drive as he fell to 1-4 on the season.
