WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Saturday night's contest at Heritage Financial Park between the Hudson Valley Renegades and Jersey Shore BlueClaws was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Renegades leading 6-4 due to inclement weather.

Fans holding tickets for Saturday's (8/12) game may exchange them for tickets of equal-or-lesser value for any other Renegades home game during the 2023 season.

For the second straight night, Hudson Valley opened up the scoring with a four-run first inning against Christian McGowan. After Jared Serna walked and Ben Cowles singled, both runners advanced on a wild pitch from McGowan. Christopher Familia then singled home both runners to give the Renegades a 2-0 lead. Rafael Flores tugged a double down the left field line to score Familia, and Jesus Rodriguez singled home Flores to complete the four-run frame.

Jersey Shore clawed back with a three-run second against Leonardo Pestana. After Caleb Ricketts reached base on a fielder's choice, Otto Kemp singled to left field. The next batter, Leandro Pineda, clubbed a three-run home run to cut the Renegades lead to 4-3.

After Pineda homered, the game entered a 46-minute rain delay with play resuming at 7:24 p.m. Once play resumed, the Renegades offense countered with an RBI double from Spencer Jones to extend their advantage to 5-3. Serna followed with a single to plate Jones and extend the 'Gades lead to 6-3.

Gabriel Rincones Jr. blasted a solo home run in the top of the third off Pestana to cut the deficit to 6-4 before play was halted for the second time in the bottom of the fourth due to a second storm cell coming through the area.

After a 30-minute delay, the game was suspended and will be picked up in the bottom of the fourth inning on Sunday and played to its full nine-inning completion beginning at 12:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 11:45 a.m. After the completion of the suspended game, the Renegades and BlueClaws will play a seven-inning contest to wrap up their series.

Renegades Record:

59-47, 20-20
