
Grasshoppers Drop Opening Night to the Drive, 5-3

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers take an extra-inning 5-3 loss on Opening Night to the Greenville Drive, as the Drive outhit the Hoppers 10-5.
Leading at the dish for the Hoppers was designated hitter, Charles McAdoo as he went 2-2 with one walk. Jack Brannigan, Termarr Johnson, and Mitch Jebb each also recorded a hit for Greensboro.
Infielder Ahbram Liendo led the Drive offense going 3-5 with one triple and one RBI. Ronald Rosario and Juan Chacon both followed close behind going 2-5 as Rosario tallied one run and one RBI. Cutter Coffey and Tyler Miller each recorded a hit for the Drive.
Starting on the mound for the Grasshoppers was left-handed pitcher Hunter Barco. Barco tallied six strikeouts and two free bases on 11 batters faced in three innings. Julian Bosnic and Jaycob Deese recorded a hold while Yunior Thibo recorded a blown save. Darvin Garcia took the loss for the Grasshoppers and moved to 0-1 on the season.
Starting on the mound for Greenville was righthanded pitcher Luis Perales as he gave up three hits, three earned runs, two free bases, and tallied three strikeouts on eight batters faced. Caleb Bolden recorded the win for the Drive and moved to 1-0 on the season while Jonathan Brand tallied his first save.
