
Grasshoppers Drop Double Header to the Hot Rods Thursday Evening

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Greensboro Grasshoppers dropped both games of its doubleheader to the Bowling Green Hot Rods on Thursday, May 9.
GAME ONE
The Hot Rods defeated the Grasshoppers, 6-3, in game one as Greensboro outhit Bowling Green 7-5. The Grasshoppers had three mishaps to the Hot Rods 2.
Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was outfielder P.J. Hilson as he went 2-3 with a double and one run scored. Infielder Maikol Escotto followed behind as he went 2-2 with one RBI and one run scored. Geovanny Planchart went 2-3 with one run scored while Hudson Head tallied the last hit for Greensboro.
Leading at the plate for Bowling Green was infielder Cooper Kinney as he went 1-2 with one run scored. Hits for the Hot Rods were also tallied by Xavier Isaac, Hunter Haas, Brock Jones, and Blake Robertson.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher J.P. Massey as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up three hits, five runs (three earned), and two free bases on four innings of work. Massey took the loss for the Grasshoppers and fell to 2-3 on the season.
Starting on the mound for Bowling Green was righthanded pitcher Duncan Davitt as he recorded seven strikeouts and gave up seven hits, three runs (two earned), and one free base on 6.1 innings of work. Davitt tallied the win for the Hot Rods and improved to 2-2 on the season.
GAME TWO
The Grasshoppers fell to the Hot Rods, 8-7. Bowling Green outhit Greensboro 10-6 as the Grasshoppers had one error to the Hot Rods two.
Leading at the plate for the Grasshoppers was infielder Nick Cimillo as he went 2-4 with a home run, one RBI, and two runs scored. Hits for Greensboro were also tallied by Jack Brannigan, Charles McAdoo, Hudson Head, and Luke Brown.
Leading at the dish for the Hot Rods was infielder Xaview Isaac as he went 4-4 with two home runs, two doubles, five RBI, and three runs scored. Outfielder Brock Jones followed behind as he went 2-4 with a home run, a double, three RBI, and one run scored.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Wilber Dotel as he tallied four strikeouts and gave up six hits, six runs, and two free bases on three innings of work. Brandan Bidois took the loss (0-3) and a blown save (2) for the Grasshoppers.
Starting on the rubber for Bowling Green was righthanded pitcher Roel Garcia III as he tallied five strikeouts and gave up three hits, five runs (three earned), and two free bases on three innings of work. Nate Dahle took the win for the Hot Rods and improved to 1-0 on the season.
