
Grace named Player of the Month

(Calgary) â The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce that Linebacker John Grace has been named the Rogers CFL Defensive Player of the Month for the 1st time this season ... Grace was recognized earlier this season as defensive player of the week for his performance in weeks 2, 7 and 8.
During the month of August Grace recorded 13 tackles and one (1) special teams tackle, four (4) quarterback sacks, two (2) interceptions for 95 yards, returning one for a touchdown.
Also of note Stampeders Defensive Back Joey Boese was named 2nd runner-up for Defensive Player of the Month. Boese leads the league in defensive tackles with 60.
This week the Stampeders will be at home to face the 5-5 Edmonton Eskimos in the 42nd annual GREYHOUND COURIER EXPRESS LABOUR DAY CLASSIC on Monday, September 6th with a 1:30 pm kickoff ... as usual this marks the first game of the home and home series that concludes Friday night, September 10th at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton ... tickets can be purchased at the Stampeder ticket office (289-0258), Safeway and Super Drug Mart.
