Gornick Recalled, Penner Assigned To Dayton

Dayton, OH - Dayton Bombers of the ECHL announced Wednesday that leading scorer Brian Gornick has been recalled by the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch, while goaltender Andrew Penner has been assigned from Syracuse to Dayton. Bombers goaltender Brandon Crawford-West was subsequently waived by the team.

Gornick, 25, has appeared in 10 games with Dayton this season, recording 6 goals, 8 assists and 16 penalty minutes. He appeared in one game with Syracuse last season, recording two penalty minutes. The St. Paul, Minnesota native signed an American Hockey League contract with Syracuse August 24, 2005.

Penner, 22, has appeared in 4 games with the Crunch this season, posting a record of 1-2-0 with a goals against average of 4.61 and a save percentage of .883. The Scarborough, Ontario native suffered a knee injury during a game on November 5th against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena.

The Dayton Bombers, proud "AA" affiliate of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, are celebrating their 15th Anniversary this season.
