
Gorillas team up with Taco Villa for Media Day

The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that the club will hold a media day to welcome the 2005-2006 season. The media day will take place on Tuesday, October 4th at 2pm. Head Coach Joe Ferras and Gorillas players will be on hand at Taco Villa located at 1826 South Georgia. In addition to the media, fans and corporate partners are encouraged to attend.
The club also announced today that Adam Kaufman has been hired as the Director of Media and Public Relations/Broadcaster. Last season Kaufman held the title of play-by-play announcer and Director of Broadcasting and Communications for the Motor City Mechanics of the United Hockey League (UHL). Prior to his start in professional hockey, he was the play-by-play announcer and Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Auburn Doubledays in the New York Penn Baseball League. Kaufman holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
The Gorillas open the season at the Amarillo Civic Center on Saturday, October 22nd at 7 p.m. against the Laredo Bucks. Season tickets and corporate partnerships for the 2005-2006 season are now available. Contact the Gorillas office at (806) 242-PUCK (7825) for more information.
