
Rayz participate in the 29th Annual Bayfest this weekend

The Corpus Christi Rayz are proud to announce their participation this weekend at the 29th Annual Bayfest in Downtown Corpus Christi running Friday - Sunday on Shoreline Boulevard. Rayz players, coaches, staff members, dancers and Stinger Ray, the team's mascot will have a booth at the event. All fans are encouraged to join the Rayz at Bayfest 2005.
In addition to appearing at Bayfest, the Rayz will be hosting open skating sessions with the public on both Saturday and Sunday at the American Bank Center. Open skating will be available on Saturday from 1:00pm-9:45pm and on Sunday from 1:00pm to 7:30pm. On Saturday families can come and skate with Stinger Ray from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Fans can also take the ice at the American Bank Center with Rayz players from 5:30pm-7:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday nights. Skating admission is only $3.00, which includes a complimentary skate rental.
Bayfest is an annual non-profit celebration that features musical acts, games, vendors and sponsored booths along the waterfront in downtown Corpus Christi. Some of the musical highlights at this year's festival are Tracy Byrd, Akon, Fast Ball, Jason Boland and more. Tickets to the event are five dollars for adults, and three dollars for children ages 7-12, senior citizens and military members. Children six and under will be admitted free of charge.
The Rayz booth will be manned for the duration of the event which spans from 6:00pm-midnight on Friday, noon-midnight on Saturday and noon-10:00pm on Sunday. Be sure to stop by and pick up a copy the team's season schedule, ticket information and register to win several prize packages. Rayz personnel will be available to answer questions and players will be available at select times to sign autographs. The American Bank Center box Office - located just behind Bayfest - will be open on Saturday from noon-4:00pm when individual game tickets go on sale. The Corpus Christi Rayz will begin their eighth consecutive season in the Coastal Bend on Friday, October 21st in Austin. The Rayz home opener will be Saturday, October 22nd at 7:35pm vs. division rivals, the Austin Ice Bats. Last season Corpus Christi broke a franchise attendance record, welcoming more than 123,000 fans in their first season at the American Bank Center.
